Open Challenges on Social VR

Abstract
The keynote addressed a major shift in immersive media: instead of keeping content inside a screen, Social VR places the user inside the content. That move creates new possibilities for collaboration, representation through avatars, shared content, movement, authoring tools, accessibility, and hybrid interaction.
Speaker Bio
Dr. Mar Gonzalez-Franco is a Principal Researcher in the EPIC team at Microsoft Research. Her work explores human behavior and perception to help build technologies that work in real-world conditions, with research also transferring into products such as Together mode in Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Soundscape.
